Greece: EU-inspired pension cuts trigger strike by unions

TENS of thousands of Greek workers took to the streets yesterday in a protest strike against EU-dictated austerity cuts to pensions.

The march on the parliament in Athens was organised by the Pame trade union federation, which is linked to the Communist Party of Greece.

Pame hailed the strike as a success, declaring: “We have the power! Without us, nothing moves!”
