CWU Conference: EU ‘sucking lifeblood out of services’

BRITISH membership of the EU will suck even more of the lifeblood out of public services, CWU delegates have been warned.

“Communications, education, health and transport are the lifeblood of our society and privateers can’t wait to get their teeth further sunk into them,” Trade Unionists Against the EU’s Alex Gordon told a fringe meeting on Monday night.

“TTIP will ensure no democratic government can challenge the split between ownership of the infrastructure and the delivery of the service that EU directives have imposed on rail, energy and are now being used in the privatisation of Royal Mail.”
