RETAIL workers’ union Usdaw became the largest union so far to back Owen Smith for the Labour leadership yesterday.
Usdaw follows steelworkers’ union Community and the Musicians’ Union (MU) in endorsing Mr Smith.
Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn has so far received the backing of rail unions Aslef and TSSA, construction workers’ union Ucatt and the Communication Workers Union.
