Argos workers to strike for 3 weeks

WAREHOUSE workers at catalogue retailer Argos will down tools for three weeks as a last resort in a row over redundancies and severance pay.

The dispute was triggered by Argos’s decision to shut a warehouse at Lutterworth in Leicestershire and transfer 500 jobs to Kettering in Northamptonshire.

The strike involves 1,100 members of union Unite at five Argos warehouses and will run from Tuesday, August 15 to Tuesday September 5.
