Free schools – piling failure on failure
The more free schools flunk their grades, the more time and money the government throws at them, writes Solomon Hughes

A POPULATION bulge is just about to hit our schools. But something odd has happened in education. Something which I don’t think most parents really understand.

If you look at the BBC report on the pressure on school places, a phrase jumps out: “The National Union of Teachers has called for councils to be able to open schools.”

Meanwhile ITV reports: “Town hall bosses across the country” have “called for education authorities to be able to open new secondary schools.”
