‘If you pay peanuts, expect strike action,’ Unite tells KP Snacks after workers vote for strikes
IF YOU pay peanuts you get strike action, Unite warned today after its members at a major salted snacks manufacturer voted overwhelmingly for wage walkouts.
The Rotherham-based KP Snacks employees have already rejected a below-inflation 8 per cent offer from the profitable firm, which has reported a whopping 275 per cent profit boost over the last five years, the union said.
Next month’s one-week strike — due from September 5 — could bring the production of one of Britain’s favourite snacks to a grinding halt as the factory is the sole producer of KP Nuts.
