Amazon job for government adviser shows 'revolving door' out of control, says Labour

LABOUR said yesterday that the “revolving door” between Whitehall and the private sector is “spinning out of control” after a government adviser got a new job at Amazon.

Liam Maxwell, the government’s first national technology adviser, is reportedly set to join the online retail giant’s web services team.

Amazon has been under fire over its British tax bill last year, which totalled a mere 6 per cent of its £72.4 million pre-tax profits in 2016.
