Activists occupy British Museum in protest against the institution's links with fossil fuel giant BP
A 'Drop BP' sign is displayed at the British Museum in central London, during a protest by Extinction Rebellion protesters over the museums sponsorship deal with BP

A MASS protest against oil firm BP at the British Museum has ended with an occupation of the building.

About 300 activists took part in the protest at the museum on Saturday organised by activist theatre group “BP or nor BP,” to persuade the flagship institution not to renew its links with the fossil fuel giant.

The protest, labelled Make BP History, included action which saw a huge 10-metre BP logo pulled apart in the Great Court before protesters occupied four different rooms in the museum for hours after closing.
