Bake Off star quits event sponsored by arms firm
Nadiya Hussain pulled out of a careers event linked to the arms trade at the weekend

BAKE Off star Nadiya Hussain pulled out of a careers event at the weekend after young activists highlighted its links to the arms trade.

Ms Hussain was due to speak on Saturday at the three-day World Skills UK Live online event.

However, as reported in the Star, the activists with the Peace Pledge Union (PPU) wrote to Ms Hussain urging her to reconsider as the event is sponsored by multinational arms company BAE Systems.
