THE Campaign for Socialism (CfS) has unveiled its new top team, with a near all-woman executive committee.
The representative group of the Scottish Labour left held its elections this week, with 12 socialists now leading the CfS ahead of next year’s Holyrood election.
The group, Momentum’s Scottish sister-organisation, will now be led by chair Katrina Faccenda, Scottish Labour’s candidate for Edinburgh Northern and Leith in the 2021 vote.
Ms Faccenda will be joined by a number of prominent Labour activists, former MSPs and trade union representatives in the coming year, with the committee including eight women.
Speaking after her election, she said: “The tasks ahead of us may appear daunting. The forces ranged against us are determined and ruthless.
“But CfS has the experience, membership and determination to achieve what our forebears had the vision to begin working towards; a party which can be a vehicle for the socialist transformation of society.”
