Edinburgh Airport workers ballot for strike action

HUNDREDS of workers at Edinburgh Airport are being balloted for strike action in an ongoing pay dispute.

Unite argues that the employer’s offer of 11 per cent and a £1,000 cost-of-living payment not only fails to take into account that members’ wages have fallen by 10 per cent in real terms over the last seven years, but lags behind a recent 12 per cent and £1,500 payment deal recently signed off at Gatwick.

Unite general secretary Sharon Graham said: “Unite’s members at Edinburgh Airport made huge sacrifices during the Covid pandemic.
