Government's evidence for forcing schools into MATs flawed, NEU analysis shows
THE Tory government’s justification for forcing all schools across England into multi-academy trusts is badly flawed, the National Education Union (NEU) has said.
The Department for Education’s (DfE) case for a fully trust-led system systemically misreported Ofsted grades and used small samples to produce higher results for academies, the union said.
The paper, published earlier this month, also reported pupil premium funding in a highly misleading way, said the union, which accused the government of having no evidence to support its call for all primary and secondary schools to move into trust “families” by 2030.
