MORE than 600 workers on Manchester’s Metro tram system will strike on June 10-11 over pay.

The Unite members voted by 95 per cent for action after rejecting a proposed increase of 5 per cent over 15 months.

Unite said the employer’s proposal was “a very substantial real-terms pay cut” with retail price index inflation running at 11.4 per cent.
