A COUNCILLOR in Kent has been suspended from the Labour whip after attending a screening of the film exposing the conspiracy behind the removal of Jeremy Corbyn as the party’s leader.

The film, Oh Jeremy Corbyn — The Big Lie, is being shown at venues across Britain despite Labour’s efforts to censor it.

Tunbridge Wells Borough Councillor Ray Moon sponsored and attended a screening of the film on July 17 in an individual capacity rather than as part of his role.

He was suspended from the party and now sits as an independent councillor.

Mr Moon is understood to have been threatened with disciplinary action if he speaks to the media, but said earlier: “It is freedom of speech and I think people should be able to make up their own minds. That is democracy.

“What worries me is the control. I always thought that I could express an opinion, but maybe that is not the way now.”

Former Tunbridge Wells Constituency Labour Party secretary Lynne Ray told the Star: “It is outrageous that he should be treated this way.”

“The purge being carried out by Keir Starmer and his cronies is affecting all of us.

“I was pushed out — made to feel very uncomfortable.

“When Jeremy Corbyn was leader, Labour Party membership in Tunbridge Wells increased by 100 per cent. All those people have left.

“I think this film has done a lot to help people find the truth.”

Uncensored! The Festival in Bristol will show the film online on Sunday and organisers say 2,000 people have signed up to see it.

Organiser Crispin Flintoff said: “This weekend is the start of a fightback against attempts to suppress a film people need to see.

“We are launching a blitz on the most insidious, backdoors censorship in recent political history.”

And organisers of the sold-out screening at the Pheonix Picturehouse in Oxford today said that the tickets “just sold themselves.”

Local activist Sam Dodson said: “The movement around Corbyn represented a serious challenge to the rich and powerful.

“It’s important to show the drastic measures that were taken to stamp it out, to highlight the power that working people and their allies hold when they unite, and to learn lessons for upcoming battles.”

Labour was invited to comment on Mr Moon’s suspension.
