Labour: government has no ambition for children

LABOUR slammed the Tory government for “showing no ambition for our children’s futures” yesterday, as it announced its post-pandemic agenda for child development.

The party said its children’s recovery plan would allow all pupils to play, learn and develop after children in British schools missed the most class time in Europe during three national lockdowns.

Proposals include new extracurricular activities including sport, drama and book clubs, small-group tutoring and extra mental-health support.
