Lack of sick pay for outsourced Croydon University Hospital staff could lead to strikes, union warns
A LACK of Covid-19 sick pay for outsourced cleaners and porters at a south London hospital could lead to strike action, GMB warned yesterday.
The health union said that private contractor G4S, which employs the workers at Croydon University Hospital NHS Trust, had withdrawn financial support for infected staff, leaving them reliant on statutory sick pay.
GMB said that workers are asking the union to call a strike ballot after the outsourcing giant publicly accused them of lying about the situation.
