Lorry driver arrested in Dover as stranded hauliers and police clash at the border
Police hold back drivers trying to enter the Port of Dover in Kent after French authorities announced that the coronavirus ban was lifted and journeys from Britain will be allowed to resume, but that those seeking to travel must have a negative test result

A LORRY driver was arrested in Dover today amid clashes between police and hauliers still stranded as a result of the French border closure.

More than 5,000 HGVs remained stuck in Kent despite the border reopening this morning, as drivers must be tested for Covid-19 before they are allowed into France.

There were disturbances at Dover and at the lorry-holding facility in Manston involving those waiting to cross the Channel.
