A major bin strike across Wiltshire could cause disruption for more than 250,000 homes

A MAJOR strike by Wiltshire refuse workers fighting below-inflation pay rises could affect more than 250,000 homes, GMB warned today.

The union is set to ballot 64 members across three sites in the county run by Hills Waste Solutions Limited.

The two-week vote, affecting workers in Trowbridge, Salisbury and Calne, is set to open on Friday and close on February 4.
