NEU presents new anti-racism charter
NEU delegate Jennifer Christopher, winner of the union's Anti-Racist Framework Award, helps launch the union's new anti-racism charter

THE NEU presented its new anti-racism charter to delegates on the second day of the union’s annual conference today.

The framework, first published in 2020, helps educators “explore ideas around race equality and plan how to tackle racism with young people and colleagues,” the union said.

Since its publication, which came after the NEU’s last pre-pandemic physical meeting in 2019, about 50 training sessions on how to integrate the charter into classroom learning have been delivered, the union reported.
