US Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez has thanked Britain’s Labour Party for “leading the world” by adopting Labour for a Green New Deal’s proposal as a major policy.
Responding to the news that Labour had adopted the policy to decarbonise Britain by 2030 with a radical package of social and economic justice, Ocasio-Cortez said in a tweet: “This is a huge deal: one of the first major political party adoptions of a Green New Deal as an official policy plank.
“Our future relies on whether our leaders choose to act now. Thank you Labour and all people in the movement for leading the world with action.”
