Pedal4Progress reach final stop in Hull

THE Morning Star’s Pedal4Progress cycling team were due at their final destination in Hull last night, having raised almost half the £10,000 target of their four-day, trans-Pennine fundraising marathon from Liverpool to Hull.

The team planned to end the final leg of their west-to-east-coast trek as they did the other three legs, with a tot of Cuban rum donated by a well-wisher.

The marathon is the tenth to be staged by the team, each marathon being dubbed an “edition.”

This year’s legs were from Liverpool to Manchester, Manchester to Wortley Hall, the workers’ stately home outside Sheffield, Wortley Hall to Selby and Selby to Hull, where a welcoming reception was planned at the city’s Guildhall.

Donation’s can be made by bank transfer to Merseyside Morning Star, sort code 60-83-01, account number 20428060.
