CAMPAIGNERS blasted government plans to sell off its life-saving vaccine manufacturing centre as “negligent” and “short-sighted” today.

We Own It and Keep Our NHS Public held a rally outside Oxford town hall to display their opposition to the forced sell-off of the Vaccine Manufacturing and Innovation Centre (VMIC).

The flagship Oxfordshire-based centre was launched in 2018 with more than £200 million of public funding and has played a key role in Britain’s vaccine programme.
