Socialists launch new plan on organising the labour movement

SOCIALIST group Momentum has launched a new plan for organising within the labour movement.

Publishing Socialist Organising in a New Era, Momentum said: “The current moment demands far-reaching change, yet the government and the political centre will not provide it. Our movement can.

“Jeremy Corbyn is no longer leader of the Labour Party, but there is a whirlwind of new movements and ideas running through society that have the power to change it.”

The plan outlines three strategic priorities that will guide organisation over the coming years: the election of socialists and adopting of radical policies; supporting struggles in communities and workplaces; and scaling up political education in the movement and across the country.

At 7pm on Thursday March 18, Momentum will be holding a mass strategy call with national co-ordinating group members to discuss the new strategy, the future of the movement, and how to play a leading role.
