Teachers to defy Tories over school safety

THE government faces widespread rebellion today as teachers and education support staff defy its instruction to reopen primary schools.

Unions representing education workers urged their members to reject the government’s order as the virulent new strain of Covid-19 spread.

The National Education Union told its members on Saturday that they have a legal right under health and safety legislation to refuse to enter schools.
