Unite calls for fair pay and treatment of Liverpool hospitality workers as city prepares for Eurovision
UNITE is set to launch a drive to win fair treatment and pay for Liverpool’s hospitality workers as the city prepares to host the Eurovision song contest next week.
A huge influx of visitors is expected for the 67th annual event — the world’s most-watched live music showpiece — bringing in millions of extra revenue for Liverpool’s bars, restaurants and hotels.
The union said that, while the event is a “cause for celebration,” low-paid workers will face a huge increase in workloads while bosses pocket a surge in profits.
