Unite secures pay rise of up to 18 per cent for Prestwick airport workers
WORKERS at Prestwick airport will receive a pay rise of up to 18 per cent under a deal secured by the Unite union.
A year after strike action was narrowly averted by a 6.5 per cent agreement, Unite has hailed the deal as winning “significant improvements to the pay, terms and conditions of over 80 workers,” including a regrading, a guarantee that no-one will earn less than the real living wage and a ban on zero-hours contracts.
Unite industrial officer Siobhan McCready said: “We are pleased to secure a pay deal at Prestwick airport which delivers valuable benefits for Unite members.
