Boohoo profits 'risk precedent that it pays to mistreat workers,' says Leicester East MP Claudia Webbe
Claudia Webbe, MP for Leicester East, has repeatedly raised Boohoo's role in 'endemic exploitation in Leicester's garment industry'

SOARING profits for fast-fashion brand Boohoo set the dangerous precedent that it pays to exploit workers, MP Claudia Webbe has warned.

This week the online retailer reported a surge in sales of 41 per cent during lockdown, bringing its profits to £1.7 billion up from £1.2bn a year earlier.

Profits soared despite the firm facing criticism last year after it emerged that workers in its supply chain were being paid less than the minimum wage and were working in poor conditions.
