Poetry on the Picketline Namaste by Liz Gold

It’s true, they
offered us a hotline,
yoga, mindfulness.

Though me, I’d rather
have less work to do
and get paid more for it.

We just ignore it. After all,
you can’t have everything
can you? Can you?

This poem is a response to the recent comment by TUC general secretary Frances O'Grady describing work-related stress as “a growing epidemic.”

Poetry on the Picket Line is a squad of like-minded poets putting themselves about to read their work on picket lines, in the spirit of solidarity. Invitations to rallies etc. welcome, contact facebook.com/pg/PicketLinePoets. The new Poetry on the Picketline anthology is available at culturematters.org.uk
