Poetry on the Picketline In the News Tonight

This baby’s mother is a princess.
This baby will not be a prince.
This baby was born in a private hospital.

This baby is defective.
This baby was fixed in utero.
This baby will probably walk.

This baby was never wanted.
This baby was never born.
This baby killed its mother.

On the day I was checking a fact I’d heard from the World Health Organisation that the number of terminations doesn’t go down when access to legal abortion is restricted — the number of dead and damaged women actually goes up – there were three birth-related stories on the BBC news app. My website is jillabram.co.uk and I'm on Twitter @MalikasKitchen
