GERMAN Chancellor Angela Merkel pressed EU member states today to do their bit to deal with the number of refugees and migrants arriving in Europe.
Speaking to the Berlin parliament before today’s EU meeting in Brussels, Ms Merkel said that they should work together to strengthen external borders and tackle the problems that force people to flee their homeland.
Targeting some member states that benefit from EU funding but resist accepting refugees, the German leader stressed the need to remember that “solidarity is not a one-way street.”
