Chinese influence praised for thawing nuclear talks

SOUTH KOREA’S national security director Chung Eui Yong praised the role of Chinese President Xi Jinping’s administration yesterday in nudging North Korea toward denuclearisation talks.

Mr Chung briefed China’s top foreign policy adviser Yang Jiechi on the recent inter-Korean talks and the possibility of a summit between US President Donald Trump and North Korean leader Kim Jong Un.
