Imam Sis speaks to the Star on his hunger strike for Kurdish freedom

IMAM SIS has been on hunger strike for 52 days in solidarity with Kurdish MP Leyla Guven as part of a global movement demanding an end to the isolation of jailed Kurdistan Worker’s Party (PKK) leader Abdullah Ocalan.

He spoke to Steve Sweeney and Mark Campbell.

I am from Elbistan, in Maras (Turkey). I’m 32 years of age and have worked in the hospitality trade for years. I came to the UK in 2004. I moved to Wales in 2014. I’ve been a Kurdish rights activist since I arrived in the UK.
