THE UCI Track Cycling World Cup will return to Scotland next year after Glasgow was named as a host city today.
The Chris Hoy Velodrome will stage the second round of the 2019-20 series from November 8-10, the first time the event has been to the city since 2016.
The venue will also host the European Track Cycling Championships in August as part of the Glasgow 2018 European Championships.
British Cycling chief executive Julie Harrington said: “Over recent years we’ve seen British riders excel in front of home crowds and, with this event falling at such a pivotal point in Tokyo preparations, this announcement is great news for both our riders and for cycling fans, who will once again get to see the best cyclists in the world competing on British soil.”
