SHOPWORKERS enforcing age-restriction laws are owed a duty of care by the government, the Union of Shop, Distributive and Allied Workers (Usdaw) says.
A Co-operative Party poll revealed today that 85 per cent of the public agree with the union.
Usdaw general secretary Paddy Lillis said: “Shopworkers will play a vital role on the front line of policing the Offensive Weapons Bill when it becomes law, as they already do on the sale of alcohol and other age-restricted products.
