Local Tory chairman quits for saying A&Es are ‘full of fat mums’ and ‘Asbo’ kids
Paramedics transfer a patient from an ambulance into Southend University hospital in Essex

A WELSH Tory has stood down as chairman of a local Conservative association following a New Year’s Eve rant against mothers taking their children to hospital accident and emergency departments.

Gareth Baines had tweeted: “A&Es in Germany aren’t full of fat mums in pot noodle-stained leggings/pjs taking their kids for a day out at A&E to harvest Facebook likes because their darling little snot-covered Asbo fell over. Happy New Year.”

The Welsh Labour Party commented: “This is terrible and shows what he really thinks about the people who use the NHS.”
