MPs blast Javid's post-Brexit immigration plans
Labour's Diane Abbott says the plans will not benefit employers or migrants
Home Secretary Sajid Javid

HOME SECRETARY Sajid Javid’s plans for a post-Brexit immigration system, announced in a long-awaited white paper, will not benefit employers or migrants, MPs said today.

Shadow home secretary Diane Abbott hit out at the government’s “disgraceful” delay in producing its plans.

“It will not meet the needs of migrants for certainty, it will not meet the needs of employers for a stable, skilled workforce. And above all, although it may read well for people who see migration cracked down on, this statement does not meet the need of the hour,” she said.
