Health workers to launch fresh strikes over pay

MORE pay strikes by NHS workers across England represented by Unite are due early next month, the union announced today.

Staff at three ambulance trusts — South Central, South East Coast and West Midlands — and workers at The Christie NHS Foundation Trust, The Christie Pathology Partnership, East Lancashire Hospitals NHS Trust and Sandwell and West Birmingham NHS Trust will down tools on May 2.

The escalation follows Unite’s announcement earlier this week that its members at London’s Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospital and the Yorkshire Ambulance Service will walkout 24 hours previously on May Day.
