John Lewis slashes redundancy pay sparking fears of more job cuts

JOHN LEWIS hinted job cuts could be on the cards today after it reduced redundancy packages for workers, making it cheaper to lay people off.

The department store retailer, which also operates Waitrose, said the group will water down its redundancy pay plan in an internal memo.

The previous redundancy package, which gives workers two weeks of pay for every year at the business, will be halved to one week per year.
