Knife attack in Reading park that killed three 'treated as a terrorist attack'

A HORRIFIC knife attack that left three dead in a Reading park is being treated as a terror attack.

Counter-terror cops arrested suspect Khairi Saadallah, 25, a Libyan refugee, at the scene of the rampage that also seriously injured three other people.

The attack was carried out at 7pm on Saturday in the town’s Forbury Gardens.

Prime Minister Boris Johnson said there is no reason to believe there could be more terror attacks as the lockdown is eased.

However the triple murder could be the third terrorist attack in Britain since the threat level was downgraded by the government in November.

Britain’s terror threat level was downgraded from “severe” to “substantial” on November 4 — its lowest level since 2014.

Two people were killed in an attack by convicted terrorist Usman Khan at Fishmongers’ Hall near London Bridge less than a month later.

And on February 2 this year Sudesh Amman — who also had terrorism convictions — was shot dead by police after stabbing two people in Streatham, south London.
