Lennon hits out at ferry bosses
‘CalMac must urgently get round the table and put a fair pay rise in the pockets of workers who have kept Scotland’s ferries running,’ the Scottish Labour leadership candidate said

SCOTTISH Labour leadership candidate Monica Lennon has hit out at ferry bosses for the “injustice” workers are facing amid an ongoing pay dispute.

The Transport Salaried Staffs’ Association (TSSA) have been in continuing talks with CalMac bosses after their members — port and shore staff — rejected a 0.5 per cent pay rise, branding the offer an “insult.”

Concerns have been raised about the continued running of regular ferry services to and from island communities, with claims that public money is being wasted while staff are denied a greater pay rise.
