Major Palestine march in London as Labour flip-flops on arms sales to Israel

HUNDREDS of thousands are expected at the 17th major London March for Palestine tomorrow, demanding an end to British complicity with Israel’s genocide in Gaza.

Ministers have delayed a decision on the legality of arms sales to Israel as the nuclear power’s attacks in Lebanon and Iran threaten to provoke a devastating Middle East war.

Palestine Solidarity Campaign director Ben Jamal criticised Foreign Secretary David Lammy for delaying a decision to publish legal advice on the sale of arms to Israel — advice he called for before Labour came to power.

This is “despite the clear evidence of Israel breaching international humanitarian law with its genocide in Gaza,” Mr Jamal said.

“How many more Palestinians must be killed before David Lammy decides to stop arming their oppressors?”

He added that Israel’s contemptuous disregard for international law comes from decades of impunity with the Middle East now on the brink of a wider regional war.

The march leaves at Park Lane at midday with a rally at Whitehall from 2.30pm.
