SOUTH KOREA was rocked by more political scandals today, with former president Lee Myung Bak accused of taking bribes and a high-flying governor forced to resign amid rape allegations.

Prosecutors said yesterday that they had called in Mr Lee for questioning.

Seoul officials raided the offices of Samsung Electronics last month looking for evidence that the business conglomerate had provided financial support to a car-parts manufacturer run by Mr Lee’s family.
