NORTH KOREA fired three short-range ballistic missiles towards the sea yesterday, its neighbours said, in the latest of a series of weapons demonstrations this year.

The missiles were the first weapons fired by the North since South Korea’s new conservative President Yoon Suk Yeol took office on Tuesday.

Both South Korea and Japan condemned the launches from the North’s capital region yesterday afternoon.
