Octopus Energy urged to cut ties with Tesla

OCTOPUS customers have called on the green energy group to abandon its partnership with Tesla.

Tesla Takedown UK said that its CEO and largest shareholder Elon Musk using its funds to bankroll climate-denying agenda including US  President Donald Trump’s “drill, baby, drill” approach and Germany’s AfD.

John Gorenfeld, an organiser of grassroots campaign group, said: “People who care about global heating know that Trump is the biggest threat to green policies on earth.

“They don’t want their green energy company teaming up with someone in a Maga hat.”

Octopus Energy supplies Tesla Powerwall batteries and offer two Tesla vehicles, including the new Model Y, for lease through its Octopus Electric Vehicles arm.

Octopus says that it’s possible to email CEO Greg Jackson directly.

Customers have however reported responses ranging from radio silence to customer satisfaction surveys to generic statements that their concerns have been heard.

Octopus was contacted for comment.
