PALESTINE action activists protested today outside the Manchester offices of property giant and “landlords for the Israeli war machine” Fisher German.
One activist scaled the roof of the offices in Deansgate and unfurled flags and banners exposing the company’s collaboration with Elbit Systems, Israel’s largest arms manufacturer, for whom Fisher German manages properties.
“Right now, in the UK, weapons are being built and used by Israel to drop on Palestinians in this genocide that’s been happening in the past month,” the protester says in a video he filmed on the rooftop.
Several protesters were seen outside the building waving Palestine flags in solidarity as police were deployed to the scene.
Fisher German lease and manage the factory in Shenstone, Staffordshire, operated by Elbit’s UAV Engines, which manufacturers engines for Israel's killer drones.
The Elbit Hermes 450 surveillance drone, designed to provide the Israeli military with targeting information, has since been equipped to carry missiles and was used to bomb targets in the 2014 assault on Gaza.
In 2022, Palestine Action targeted Fisher German’s Birmingham offices five times, smashing windows and dousing the property in red paint.
Following the action, sources confirmed to Palestine Action that Fisher German had been forced to abandon its offices in the city’s Harborne district.
Elbit supplies 85 per cent of Israel’s drone fleet and the same proportion of its land-based military equipment.
Israel’s relentless bombardment of Gaza has now killed over 14,000 people, including around 5,000 children, according to Palestinian authorities.
