Rally called outside Holyrood against cuts to culture and arts
[Equity]

MEMBERS of performing arts union Equity will rally outside the Scottish Parliament on Thursday in protest at cuts to vital funding for Scotland’s creative and cultural activities.

Equity says the Scottish government has pledged to increase culture funding by £100 million over the next five years.

But a £6m “open fund,” which supports artists, writers, producers and others is to close due to lack of Scottish government funding.
