HUNDREDS of rebel police officers paralysed the streets of Port-au-Prince on Thursday as they protested against a slew of killings of law enforcement officers by Haitian gangs.

The protests were led by members of Fantom 509, an armed group of current and former police officers that has violently demanded better conditions for officers.

The protesters wove through the city with many wearing hoods along with police uniforms and flak jackets while shooting automatic weapons into the air.
