Frank Lampard admits opportunity to manage Chelsea was too ‘huge’ to turn down

CHELSEA’S all-time record goal-scorer Frank Lampard returned to the club as head coach this afternoon and hailed the strength of the squad he has inherited.

After a successful season as manager of Championship side Derby County, Lampard returns to the club in which he spent 13 years as a player and won every trophy available, from the Premier League to their first Champions League.

Speculation about his return to the Blues as a manager has been simmering over the past 12 months but really ramped up when news of then boss Maurizio Sarri was on his way out after just one year in charge.
