A GOALLESS draw between Watford and Bournemouth on Saturday afternoon left Watford still searching for their first win of the season and sitting bottom of the table.

Ben Foster pulled off an array of spectacular saves to keep a clean sheet against the Cherries. Aaron Ramsdale denied Deulofau with an equally good save down the other end.

The match was end to end with both sides giving up possession. Watford were forced to make an early substitution with Will Hughes replacing the injured Tom Cleverly.

Watford started the game without an out-and-out number nine with Troy Deeney still recovering from his injury and Andre Gray only being introduced in the second half as Watford continued their search for a goal.

Nathan Ake returned to Vicarage Road, where he previously had a loan spell for the Hornets and said: “I think we could have played better. The last two games we played better football, there’s more to come.

“No-one is worried about not scoring goals. We know what they can do. They can score goals at any moment. I think the service up to them (the strikers) needs to be better from the back as well. I look at myself as well. I think the whole team needs to improve.

“It’s been up and down [since] the start of the season. I was talking about consistency. I don’t think we’ve delivered that so far. The last two games the clean sheets were positive.

“I’m still enjoying my football. The manager has given me a lot of confidence throughout my career. Every footballer wants to win things, we need to play better as a team and that’s our main focus.”
