Lily Owsley hits double in 50th game as Britain beat US
LILY OWSLEY celebrated her 50th appearance for Britain in style as she scored two goals and set up the other in the Olympic champions’ 3-1 win at the United States in the FIH Pro League on Sunday night.
The victory in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, in which Emily Defroand scored her first international goal, was Britain’s first in four attempts in the competition as they came from behind to strike three times in a 14-minute spell spanning the second and third quarters.
Seventeen-year-old Mackenzie Allessie gave the US the lead, deflecting the ball in in the 22nd minute following their first penalty corner of the game.
